This article, written by solid reporter, touches on one of my basic pet peeves. Parents who abdicate responsibility for their children and dump them at a boot camp/ reform/ therapeutic school or any such institution where you pay strangers to deal with your kids.
If you can't stand your child, and are determined to get rid of her or him at one of these schools, please, please, at the very least do your research. Google the school or look them at the International Survivors Action Committee. Better yet, enter family therapy, so you don't face a lifetime of resentment once your child gets out.

I just finished reading Jesus Land, less than thirty hours after I brought it home. Absolutely heartbreaking, every page! I am so sorry to hear of all that you and David and Jerome had to endure, and sometimes even from eachother.
How little we know what goes on behind locked doors and what pain those around us carry, hidden away in the dark places.

I just read your write up of the Wonderland case on truTV.com and I can say that I was HIGHLY offended at your blatant disregard for the victims and even the details of the case and spent the first four pages(of 14) talking about John Holmes genitals and no mention of the incident until page 8.
If you have a thing for porn or men of large size, for the love of GOD please keep your obvious infatuation OUT of your summaries of very very serious cases. After a heavy study/research session on this and related topics, and reading some very sensitive/graphic pages and documents, going from that degree to such a sexually charged puff peice about Mr Holmes "asset", complete with detailed sexual talk all being hosted on a site dedicated to real life horror cases, is disgusting. I have written TruTV.com asking for the removal or editing of the article, and Im shocked to find after coming to your website that your a religious person. A few skeletons in the closet I'm guessing.

I read your book "Jesus Land" in one day and one night. Though we have very different life circumstances, I too, have been sexually abused and physically abused. You give a voice to those of us who have yet to find ours.
I was Julia's classmate and she has a very differant memory than I of her and our experience. She is simply trying to make money.
I just read Jesus Land and enjoyed it very much. Thank-you for taking the time to tell yours and David’s story.
